On Monday and Tuesday our year took part in a martial arts course, In the morning we went to the school hall to do a theory class where he the instructor told us about different scenarios and showed us videos of self defence and attacks. After the break we went down to the sports hall to complete the practical lesson. We learnt lots of basic self defence moves and nearer to the end of the session we learned some ground fighting moves. On Tuesday morning we went straight down to the sports hall and started intone practical part of the day. We did a lot of ground fighting during the morning and then we went back over everything we did the day before. After lunch we came down to finish the course and to complete our assessment which consisted of things like do ten combos, then sprints, then ten knees followed by ten takedowns. I really enjoyed the martial arts course because I learnt a lot of self defence techniques
Public access to law
On Friday the 10th of November, I attended a TYcourse called Public Access to Law. I found this course very interesting and enjoyable because we learnt a lot about law as a career. At the start of the morning we watched an hour long video about two murder cases that had been solved. After break we started a mock trial about damage done to property. This part was very fun be ause she sorted us into different roles such as Jurors, Prosecutors, Defendants and judges. I found Public Access to Law very interesting and I learnt a lot of new things.
Scuba Diving
During this year I attended a Scuba Diving course in the National Aquatic Centre. I really enjoyed this course because I have never been Scuba diving before. In the national aquatic centre they have a pool that the floor can be lowered and this makes the pool much deeper and better for diving. We wore an oxygen mask and goggles. I enjoyed this course and would like to scuba dive again.
